Born 2nd of 5 children with a very large extended family; - married 37 years [not for lack of trying to mess it up] and with four children to keep up with, I am continually fascinated by the ongoing, continual, ever-changing dynamics of the family!

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville. My work has been presented at the National and State Level. I work with individuals, couples, families and groups to create a safe, confidential and trusting relationship where we work together to solve life's many challenges. My experience includes, but is not limited to working with children and adolescent behavioral challenges, parenting difficulties, couples work, infidelity, family life transitions, grief and loss, sexual abuse including adult survivors, and trauma work.

This work is my passion and vocation! If we can't figure it out, I will try to connect you to someone who can!

Michael is a dynamic presenter, consistently receiving excellent reviews for his informative and engaging content. He speaks on a variety of topics, including communication, marriage, addiction issues, motivational topics and employee concerns. He has appeared on local television discussing couples issues and stress management. WFPL’s State of Affairs has archived recordings on the web of presentations on “Kids & Depression”, “Parenting Teenagers”, and “Dealing with Holiday Stress”.

Michael has provided education services to employers, churches and hospitals since 2001. Michael has been in the mental health field for over 30 years, specializing in couples therapy and treatment of adolescents and adult trauma victims, as well as adults with depression & anxiety issues. He is certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples Counseling (EFT is the latest research-based treatment for couples available, with over 75% success rate). He is co-facilitator of a Victims of Infidelity therapy group, and is trained in hypnosis therapy.
